Chateau Queyssard 2005 Bordeaux

Chateau Queyssard 2005 Bordeaux

Another bargain (€3.30 !) red from Bordeaux with a remarkable meaty bouquet and mouthfeel.  The aroma immediately struck us as something yummy and reminiscent of much more expensive Bordeauxs.  After finishing this bottle with freinds and opening another similar-priced Bourdeaux, we immediately wanted another Queyssard.  A real standout, very satisfying with layers of flavors and great quality for such a low price.

They report about 55 hectares of land producing their reds and whites, so it is not a huge winery.  Made in Pompignac, a winery and farm run by the Massé family since 1890. Can’t wait to try their other products!

According to EveryWine.co.uk:

Grapes: Merlot / Cabernet franc / Cabernet Sauvignon
Description: A blend of 70 % Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and a little 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful colour with flavours of red fruits, the wine is tannic and vigorous. Produced to comply to the traditional criteria required by the Bordeaux Superieur name.
