Givry - Vieilles Vignes La Sauleraie by Parize Père et Fils

Givry - Vieilles Vignes La Sauleraie by Parize Père et Fils

According to Vinarium-France, Parize Pere and sons build their red and white wines from only 2 hectare (about 5 acres) of land in Givry (could this really be true?).  This delightful red can be found for about €8 in the local stores. One person over at French-Wine-A-Day likes these too !  Some tourist info can be found at the Givry tourism site.

This wonderful red has a lightly colored and light-feeling body that would initially fool you into thinking it was like a beaujolais before tasting.  Oh no.  This wine is brimming with sophisticated smoothness and red-fruit layers that linger long after the sip has disappeared.  Seductively smooth and gentle, yet it has more than just an initial flavor and bouquet to entertain you.  Where a lesser-wine would announce itself and then retreat after introducing its top (andy only) layer of flavor, La Sauleraie by Parize Pere has a lingering flavor package that keeps on going and unravelling nicely.  Impressively made.  When the experts say the Burgundy region has some of the most talented winemakers in the World, they are not mistaken.  Wonderful and worth the extra few Euros. Very, very drinkable and alluring with finesse and sophistication. Really fun wine to have found here. More please.
